Katydid is the brainchild of Texas designer and entrepreneur Katy Messersmith. Her journey into fashion began in 2002 while volunteering at a clinic in Ghana. When her luggage went missing, Katy took it in stride and used it as an opportunity to get creative. Instead of rushing to the nearest store, she teamed up with local seamstresses to design a collection of vibrant bags and colorful wrap skirts. This experience ignited a passion for design within Katy, and she returned to her Dallas, TX home with a determination to create even more unique women's apparel and accessories. Since then, Katydid has evolved into a lifestyle brand known for its cute clothing, entertaining accessories, and trendy gifts. With her fashion-forward vision and unstoppable work ethic, Katy has positioned Katydid as a rising star in the world of women's apparel and accessories.
